July 2026 Outing Woodberry Down Reservoir
What does one do during this very hot weather, a walk around a reservoir seemed a good idea. We used the Piccadilly line to get to Manor House. It was then a 10 minute walk to Woodberry Down, the east reservoir. It is less than a mile to walk around. Some of us had been there before, some 10 years ago. I was a little disappointed as there had been 10-15 foot of rather unattractive reeds and water plants on the edge, which meant the path, much of which was new was away from the water, so no sightings of ducks or other water birds, we did see dragonflies. Never the less there was a nice breeze and it made a pleasant walk. We found a nice cafe for lunch.
The group enjoyed the visit and I would recommend it.
