Using DVDs we can ‘visit’ these places whilst sitting in comfort at home. We meet on the 4th Wednesday of each month, 2-4 pm.
As a group we were interested in continuing to meet up regularly, and so on Wednesday 26th August we shall be starting a new course, ‘The World’s Greatest Churches’. This course will include churches in caves, painted churches, Stave Churches, amongst others, many of which will be quite unlike those we can now see in many an English town. This new course will be on the 4th Wednesday of each month – please contact me or our Group Co-ordinator Pat Laughton, if you are interested in joining us.

First Meeting : August Introduction
The first half hour of this new course was given over to presenting us with a broad view of the range of churches our lecturer would be giving us. We then ‘visited’ The Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem, a building which has many interesting parts. These include special areas set aside for worship by differing Christian denominations, Egyptians, Syrian, Armenian, Greek Orthodox, Catholic and Ethiopian. Any alterations made to any part of the Church must be done by the unanimous agreement of all these groups, with the result that little changes, so much of what we see now has been in place for many years.
